On Saturday, May 22, at 9:00 p.m., we were blessed to gather as a community to keep vigil with the the Word of God and Eucharist as we celebrated the Feast of Pentecost. Fr. Jean Claude accepted our invitation to pray with us.

The sisters created a beautiful ambiance.

During our time of vigil, there was a terrible rain storm with thunder and lightning. We were joined by a slew of tiny bugs that come during our rain storms because they are attracted to the light which fills the chapel. In the midst of all of this, we gathered after the example of the Apostles and disciples who, with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, persevered in prayer, as they awaited the Spirit promised by the Lord. Like them, we listened with quiet hearts to the Word of God. We remembered the many great deeds God in times past did for His people; and we prayed that the Holy Spirit, whom the Father sent as the first fruits for those who believe, would bring His work into the world.

We listened and sang in French, Creole, Polish and English. The Spirit was alive and the Word fulfilled in our hearing.

The Lord fulfills everything He says and proclaims to us, especially when we pay attention to where His voice and Will leads us. “See I will bring Spirit into you and bring you into life… I have promised, and I will do it, says the Lord.”
Yes, the Lord came through our locked doors last night in Word and Eucharist and fulfilled His purpose in our hearing. All shall be revealed as we walk His way. We remembered all of you in our prayer. We pray today that the gifts and fruits of the Spirit will be deep within you that you may continue the mission God has called you to fulfill. Have a blessed day in the Holy Spirit. 🙏🏾🕊❤️✌🏿
