Thanks to you, look what we can do!
Since we returned to Jacmel, the children had been asking when we would start our English program. We continued our food program as soon as we arrived, but we needed time to set up the computers and prepare them for the students. We began the program yesterday with each student working on an individual computer with his/her own English program. It is such a joy to see each of these kids so eager to learn. They each get a half hour of time on the computer.
We are so very grateful to the many people who donated a computer and/or Rosetta Stone English program. May God bless you for your generosity! We use every opportunity to bring the kids to the chapel to pray for you. Mass will be said in our chapel for all our benefactors.
Preparing for our mobile clinic
This week we met with Monsignor Domond, the Vicar General, to discuss the places located in the mountains where a mobile clinic is most needed. He identified four villages. On Tuesday, July 2, we went to one of the villages called Lumiere Citi, City of Light, where the chapel of St. Jude is located. We were introduced to one of the Church Elders, Madam Nenet, who is responsible for the Church community. She will be helping us to organize the people for the mobile clinic in St. Jude chapel. The pictures below show the way we have to travel, by the sea and through rivers, to get to the village.
Bon Fet, Sè Marilyn
Today, June 30, we celebrated Sr. Marilyn’s birthday and feast day. We had many friends and our students come to visit us. Yvon and Gracias, our friends from Port au Prince, took us for lunch to a place we did not know existed in Jacmel. Yesterday we had made cupcakes to share with all! The pictures show only some of our visitors who had come throughout the day. We ended the day with prayer and adoration in thanksgiving for the gift of life.
