On Friday, September 5, we celebrated the feast of Mother Teresa of Calcutta with our dear Missionaries of Charity in Jacmel. Mass was celebrated by Bishop Launay in a new center built for the special needs children and teens for which the Sisters care. About 400 people were in attendance; all were those the sisters serve, the poorest of the poor. The words of the Gospel were fulfilled…when you have a banquet, invite the poor and those from the streets. May we learn from Mother Teresa’s compassion and love for all God’s people, especially the poorest of the poor.
“Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God – the rest will be given.”
