On Saturday, March 12, our Sr. Ann Therese Kelly hosted a fun community art project focused on the Earth, using materials that would end up in a landfill. All was done on zoom! She works in Buffalo, NY.
Our Sisters Izzy and Julitta, and Rosemarie, our artist, joined in the experience here in Jacmel, Haiti! One of our young boys stopped by and joined in the fun. When finished, our group had made a beautiful image of Haiti, using materials that would end up in a landfill!
On Wednesday, March 9, Sisters Inga and Marilyn met with Michlet (engineer) and Fr. Bertrand at the bakery site for an update on the construction. We walked through all the buildings, looking where electricity, pipes, toilets and sinks will be placed and needed, as well as areas for placement of windows, etc. It was a good meeting, and it seems the construction of buildings being finished by June will be a reality. If God wills…si Bondye vle!
March 3-6, the Felician Mission welcomed 30 people in the first community in Neocatechumenal Way from St. Michael’s Parish. We welcomed the holy season of Lent with reconciliation, prayer and the Celebration of the Eucharist. We are called to put on Christ as we seek to live His Word from Philippians 2:1-5.
“So if in Christ there is anything that will move you, any incentive in love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any warmth or sympathy — I appeal to you,
2:2 make my joy complete by being of a single mind, one in love, one in heart and one in mind.
2:3 Nothing is to be done out of jealousy or vanity; instead, out of humility of mind, everyone should give preference to others,
2:4 everyone pursuing not selfish interests but those of others.
2:5 Make your own the mind of Christ Jesus…”
